Troforte®M Controlled Release Fertilisers contain a biologically coated, specifically engineered, mineral base that incorporates essential natural minerals and a scientifically balanced suite of well-researched and trialled Australian-cultured beneficial soil microbes. In addition to providing full Nutritional benefits to plants, Troforte®M can assist in providing Non-Nutritional benefits including improved water uptake, disease resistance and organic carbon enrichment by increasing the soils microbial biomass and, therefore, soil wettability. These microbes (probiotics) carry out a wide range of biological activities within the soil such as nitrogen-fixing, nutrient building, producing growth hormones, decomposing organic matter to organic carbon, and even protecting beneficial bacteria by releasing antibiotics that assist in inhibiting diseases such as root rot, fungi and Pythium. They can also help condition soils by improving soil structure. Individual Troforte®M formulations include a combination of various strains of microbes. Some bacterial species break down minerals and release potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium and iron to make them plant available, while others create and release natural plant growth hormones such as auxins, gibberellins and cytokines. The release of nutrients in Troforte®M is via a combination of reverse osmotic pressure and microbial activities within the soil.
